Director of Sales

Sentry Security is a growing independent Chicagoland security company.  Sentry Security specializes in the installation, service, maintenance, and monitoring of commercial solutions.  Our services include integrated security services (intrusion, access control and video), and fire alarm systems with security and 24/7 video surveillance.   Sentry’s workplace is built from day-to-day relationships with customers, colleagues, and vendors.

Sentry Security is looking for an experienced and proven Director of Sales.

The ideal candidate will achieve performance based goals and execute strategic plans that exceed sales targets. The selected candidate must build, foster, and maintain relationships with the Sales Team.


Essential Duties / Responsibilities

  • Directing and coordinating all sales activities locally and regionally.
  • Overseeing local and regional sales, promotions, and campaigns.
  • Coaching and supporting existing Sales Representatives.
  • Planning and directing the hiring and training of new Sales Representatives.
  • Preparing sales budgets and projections. Approving expenditures.
  • Tracking and analyzing sales statistics based on key quantitative metrics.
  • Handling and resolving customer complaints regarding an install or service
  • Setting discount rates and determining price schedules
  • Improving work flow process
  • Advertising distributors and dealers on policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

For new Install jobs, the Director of Sales, will have the responsibility for:

  • New job approval
  • Pricing on new jobs
  • Commission approval
  • Collections on new jobs
  • Contracts for new jobs
  • Billing supervision for new jobs
  • Job costing

Qualified candidate must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree / Engineering preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record of managing a Sales Team of five or more years.
  • Motivation, initiative, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Technical solutions and operational expertise.
  • The ability to understand industry specific trends and adapt easily to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ability to read electronic blueprints and knowledge of the permit process.

Other Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.
  • Must be able to pass background screening requirements or possess a valid IL PERC card.
  • Criminal background check is a requirement for employment.
