The Senior Technician will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and servicing of commercial security, fire, CCTV, card access systems and other systems. 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Perform new system installations, upgrades, and additions.
  • Troubleshoot repairs and /or replace existing equipment / systems if necessary.
  • Maintain and organize parts and materials.
  • Provide and deliver reliable communication with our customers.
  • Low voltage/electronics experience preferred.
  • Run and terminate various cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Coax etc.).
  • Work independently and perform all work to quality standards.
  • Prepare well-written detailed, clear, and concise reports /documentation on tasks performed on individual commercial accounts such as installations, issues, actions, and resolutions.
  • Coordinate and ensure customer training in the proper use and operation of alarm systems.  Provide basic troubleshooting repair procedures.
  • Comply with local, county, state, and federal codes.
  • Attend and participate training sessions in technology.
  • Ability to work with various hand tools, lift equipment, climb ladders, and scaffolding. (Occasionally lift 75 pounds)
  • Participate in a paid rotating-on call schedule.
  • Collaborate and establish a good working relationship with sales to deliver accurate quotes.
  • Increase positive experiences for our customers by conveying information effectively and assist with customer satisfaction evaluations.
  • Cultivate, mentor, and collaborate with fellow technicians to improve productivity, engage employee’s creativity, and increase customer satisfaction.

Qualified candidate must have:

  • High school / Vocational training diploma or Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Must experience with wiring security networks, CCTV, and access control.
  • Experience with wiring security networks, CCTV, and access control.
  • Low voltage/electronics experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of local/national codes.
  • Must be able to read drawings and pull wires.
  • Obtain and retain certifications and/or licenses required by national, state, and local codes.
  • Motivation, initiative, and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Technical applications, solutions, networking, and programming are required.
  • Demonstrate ability to understand industry specific trends and adapt easily to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Other Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.
  • Must be able to pass background screening requirements or possess a valid IL PERC card.
  • Criminal background check is a requirement for employment.
